About Claire Harrison

Claire is a registered Sport and Exercise Nutritionist on the National Sport and Exercise Nutrition register ( SENr ), who teaches sport and exercise nutrition at the University. She is also consultant dietician for the Performance Clinic In Newcastle and Sunderland and Newcastle Swimming Club. Claire was the nutrition service provider for the English Institute of Sport between 2003 and 2009, the dietician for Middlesbrough Football Club between 1997 and 2009 and dietician for Newcastle United Football Club between 2009 and 2012. She works with athletes across the region at all levels. Her research interests include biochemical markers of nutritional status, making weight strategies for weight class sports and recovery nutrition.

Research interests

Nutrition and rehabilitation, recovery nutrition and protein metabolism.
