About Judith Eberhardt

Dr Judith Eberhardt transferred to Teesside University from Heidelberg University in Germany, having completed part of her undergraduate degree there. She then gained her BSc (Hons) Psychology, her MSc Health Psychology (Distinction) as well as her PhD from Teesside University.

As part of her PhD Judith developed, implemented and evaluated an electronic coping-enhancement programme for bereaved women which addressed psychosocial factors in breast-cancer development. The project entailed a mixed methods approach and drew on the areas of health psychology, technology acceptance research and counselling psychology.

Judith’s teaching responsibilities include counselling psychology, biopsychology and interventions in health psychology. She is also the programme leader for Psychology and Counselling.

Research interests

Judith is interested in mind-cancer research, specifically psychosocial aspects of breast-cancer development and prevention. Her research interests further include Internet-based intervention programmes, bereavement and Internet counselling, as well as the acceptability of and attitudes towards male hormonal contraception.
