Dr Jeanet Ingwersen is a senior lecturer in Psychology in the School of Social Sciences, Business and Law. She completed her BSc in Psychology and her MSc in Psychological Research Methods at the University of Dundee and gained her PhD in 2011 from Northumbria University. Her PhD investigated the Effect of Breakfast and Snack Consumption on Children's Cognitive Performance.

Jeanet is the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Psychology and has since commencing her lectureship at Teesside in 2008 taught on a variety of modules. Currently she is the coordinator for the ‘Psychology Dissertations’ and also teaches the developmental parts of ‘Introduction to Core Areas’ and ‘The Psychology of Development and Individual Differences’. She also teaches on ‘Psychological Research Design and Analysis’ and contributes to the ‘Dissertation Preparation’ module.

Research interests

Jeanet is a researcher within the Social Futures Institute at Teesside University. Her primary research interest is in the relationship between food intake and children’s cognition and behaviour. She is particularly interested in area of applying glycaemic index of a food to cognitive and behavioural effects in children. Jeanet is also interested in student retention and progression and is currently working on a project exploring students’ views of assessment feedback.
