The vision of SUNEE - a partnership between us and the Universities of Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria and Sunderland - is to tackle social inclusion and strengthen community engagement by increasing participation in sport and well-being, while enhancing student employability.

As a SUNEE volunteer not only will you get invaluable experience, but you will also receive funding for coaching awards as well as gain nationally recognised volunteer certificates.

The SUNEE volunteer programme runs throughout the year and gives you the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of roles including:

  • coaching
  • officiating
  • event planning and management
  • administration and data management
  • mentoring
  • sports development.

SUNEE activities take place at venues such as the University, local schools and regional sports facilities.

As a volunteer, you can be involved in a range of our community activities, including Gifted and Talented Camps, Podium and SUNEE Street League.
