League table success for Teesside University Business School

09 May 2018

Our Business and Management Studies provision has moved up twenty three places on last year to 84th overall in The Complete University Guide 2019’s subject table*, making Teesside University the highest climbing institution ranked in the Business and Management field of study.

This is the first time that The Complete University Guide has provided a full ranking of all 131 eligible UK universities.

The rankings take into consideration a number of factors, including entry standards, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, programme completion rates and good honours degrees.

Dr Susan Laing, Dean of Teesside University Business School, said: ‘The recent league table success for the University has been fantastic and provides positive evidence that the clear strategic direction of the University is making a positive impact for our learners.

‘To have our Business and Management provision move up 23 places and be the highest climbing institution in this subject area is fantastic news and reflects the hard work and dedication of all members of the Business School and wider University in enhancing our business and management related programmes.’

This strong performance for Business and Management provision follows the recent trend in improved ranking for the wider University following recent success in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2018. The Whatuni Student Choice awards are based solely on student feedback and placed Teesside University at 15 out of 126 higher education institutions in the University of the Year category.

The results of the Complete University Guide and Whatuni Student Choice Awards build on additional national league table success which saw Teesside University rise nine places in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and last year’s Guardian University Guide saw Teesside move up 23 places to 79th, one of the highest climbers.

Teesside University has invested heavily in its campus in recent years as part of its commitment to providing the best possible student and learning experience. Teesside University Business School will move to a new £7.5m facility at the heart of the University Campus, opening in September 2018.
