Nursery curriculum

The nursery endeavours to fulfil all aspects of the Ofsted Early Years Guidance to the National Standards for Full Day Care. In line with these guidelines, your child is allocated a key worker who is responsible for completing their development record. Parents will receive these once a term in the Baby Unit, and every June and December in the Pre-school Unit.

We hope that you feel able to talk to us at anytime about any aspect of your child's development and welfare.

We have a full and varied curriculum in both the Baby and Pre-school Units which are planned to include all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have these long and short-term plans available for you to see.

Ofsted requires all staff to complete regular training. To fulfil this, we close the nursery for an afternoon three times a year. We try to organise this to cause the minimum of disruption - we hope all parents understand the need for it.

Under the terms of our Ofsted registration we are required to follow the Care Standards Act 2000 and the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.

In protecting children from harm or neglect and helping them stay safe, we:

  • do regular Child Protection Training
  • have a full and concise Child Protection Policy
  • have a full and rigorous Child Protection Procedure
  • will ensure that any child showing signs of neglect or abuse will be protected and their needs will be our priority.
