Being a carer and caring for yourself

With unpaid carers in the UK currently saving the public purse an estimated £132b and the carer population set to increase to a staggering 9 million by the year 2037, the mental health of this hidden healthcare army is a subject worth exploring.

Caring can be stressful and have negative effects on mental well-being, however, carers also experience positive benefits, such as a sense of meaning and purpose.

Join Dr Julia Harrison as she discusses her research into the life-world of six carers and their subjective experience of mental well-being.
