You study business organisation, management, leadership and enterprise combined with specialist modules in change management.

This programme will be particularly of interest to those seeking to pursue careers in business with a particular emphasis on change and strategy.

Year 1 is mainly tutor led and focuses on providing you with the necessary underpinning in terms of broad business knowledge and skills. You explore key business and management concepts and are introduced to your specialist area of change management.

Year 2 takes a more student-led approach with an emphasis on exploring your own interests and deepening your insights as well as having more responsibility for your own learning. During this year you develop a broader international perspective to the study of business. As well as studying four core business modules, including a module where you gain practical work experience via self-identified project, you also study two modules in the area of change management.

The final year explores more advanced topics within business and management and you develop your awareness of your own responsibility as a future leader of business. You consider the strategic and applied aspects of change management and have the opportunity to put your knowledge into action by undertaking a self-managed independent project via the Dissertation module.

How you learn

Modules are taught by lectures, seminars, practical workshops, work-based activities and group work. Teaching staff adopt a range of web-based technologies to deliver module content, assess, provide feedback and communicate with students.

How you are assessed

The programme is assessed via a variety of methods including assignments, examinations, group work, presentations and live practical projects.

Timetabling information
As a full-time student your timetabled hours are between Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 6.00pm. On Wednesdays the latest you will be timetabled is until 1.00pm. Hours of attendance vary between 12 hours and 20 hours per week. Part-time undergraduate students are required to attend during the same days and times as full-time students but for only a proportion of the time, dependant on the modules being taken. Module choices are discussed with course tutors during the enrolment and induction period. Further details are automatically sent to applicants due to enrol this year.

Work placement

Between Year 2 and your final year, you have the opportunity to spend a year in industry on placement, or study abroad at one of our partner institutions. Alternatively you could proceed on to the final year.

Entry requirements

A typical offer is 80-104 tariff points from at least two A levels (or equivalent), together with maths and English at GCSE, grade 4 (grade C) or above (or equivalent).

We welcome applications from mature students without conventional entry requirements. We will take into account any alternative qualifications or other experience you may have.
