Grow Tees Valley

Unlocking business potential.

Grow Tees Valley is here to help Tees Valley’s ambitious SMEs to access the funding and expertise they need to grow.

Grow Tees Valley

Our new and exciting Grow Tees Valley programme, which is financially supported through the European Development Fund (ERDF), works with SMEs* to help them grow. Whether you want to improve or develop a product, embed a new service within your organisation or enter new markets, Grow Tees Valley can point you in the right direction.

We will work with you to carry out a detailed ‘business diagnostic’ to understand what makes your business tick. We’ll recommend the type of support that is right for you or put you in touch with our wider network of business support providers. If you already have a project in mind, we will assess its potential and draw up an action plan together.

Growth Spark voucher scheme

Access Growth Spark grants which support you with up to 50% of the costs associated with procuring expertise and specialist equipment to develop ideas, products and services. Due to Covid-19 we’ve upped the grant contribution to a maximum of £15k.

Growth Associate Programme

Our Growth Associate Programme lets you tap into our talented pool of graduates to deliver a pre-set work plan. You also have the added benefit of support from an industry expert or an academic from Teesside University for half a day per week – and we’ll support up to 50% of the project’s costs.

We will work closely with you to understand your specific needs, develop your plan and help you through the recruitment process to ensure the right fit for your business. Projects are available over 6, 9 or 12 months.

NYMAS: Getting the right expertise to support future growth

The challenge

Billingham-based company NYMAS manufactures bathroom and toilet equipment for elderly and disabled people for customers including care homes, hospitals and the hospitality industry.

Recognising a gap in the market for specialist ‘luxury’ products NYMAS approached us to help them look at whether it was cost effective to bring their product design and development in-house, as well update their internal processes to support the company’s future growth.
