How long have you been a student ambassador?

Almost a year.

Why did you want to become a student ambassador?

I applied for the role as I wanted to help promote Teesside University and my course as well as get to know more about the University and the local community.

I knew that becoming an ambassador would also be a great way to get to know other students from different courses and earn some money in the free time I have around my studies and placements.

What sort of work have you been involved with?

I have been involved in many different events including open days, UCAS exhibitions and the Year 12 residential summer school.

What’s the best part of your role as an ambassador?

The best part of being an ambassador is getting to meet so many different people of all ages and backgrounds from staff and students to prospective students and members of the local community.

What’s your favourite thing about Teesside?

There has been a massive investment on campus providing great facilities for all the schools within the university as well as social and study spaces. The Teesside advanced scheme also meant I had money for books when I started as well as an IPad which has enabled interactive lectures and learning meaning that everyone no matter their financial status is able to complete and submit assignments from home.

What would you say to anyone thinking about applying to the ambassador programme?

Do it! It’s a great way to earn money by working around your studies whilst socialising and meeting new people. It’s also a brilliant way of getting involved in the University and learning about other courses.
