The best part of my role has to be the opportunities I have been given to work on a range of different jobs.

Gemma Graham

How long have you been a student ambassador for?

One year.

Why did you want to become a student ambassador?

I wanted a job which was flexible enough to fit around my academic timetable and this was perfect.

What sort of work have you been involved with?

I have been involved in campus open day events, UCAS exhibitions, international and home student Clearing events, day trips with international students and lots of residential summer school activities (involving things like bowling, the cinemas, day trips to York and lots of pizza)! As an ambassador I have just as much fun as the students I support.

What’s the best part of your role as an ambassador?

The best part of my role has to be the opportunities I have been given to work on a range of different jobs. I also love having the freedom to be able to choose my hours to suit my studies. The role has allowed me to grow and develop as a person and I genuinely look forward to coming to work.

What’s your favourite thing about Teesside?

Teesside is a great place to live and the people are friendly and welcoming.

What would you say to anyone thinking about applying to the ambassador programme?

What are you waiting for? Apply! It will be one of the best decisions you make whilst at University.
