Complete introduction to bioprocessing
- Duration: 3 days
- Price: £1,800 + VAT
- Dates: Tuesday 9 July 2024 - Thursday 11 July 2024
This 3-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the theoretical and practical aspects involved in the production of GMP biological products. Investigations of active pharmaceutical manufacture in the context of vaccines, advanced therapies and biotherapeutics will ensure that delegates gain a thorough understanding of modern bioprocessing.
The full scope of typical biomanufacturing will be examined; from upstream batch initialisation to downstream final fill of polished product, as well as the underlying scientific principles that determine the execution of necessary bioprocessing steps. The course will outline standard processing strategies, the importance of personnel adherence to GMP regulations in biomanufacturing facilities and the significant role process analytical techniques play in the production of safe and efficacious products.
Training will be conducted in our Centre of Excellence facility housing cutting-edge laboratory instruments and benchtop-scale processing equipment, allowing delegates to gain vital hands-on, practical exposure to industry-standard biomanufacturing processes and procedures.
Topics covered:
- Cell biology basics and protein production
- Current biotherapeutic landscape
- Critical quality attributes
- Upstream bioprocessing fundamentals
- Bioreactors and production modes
- Clean-in-place vs. single-use technologies
- Downstream bioprocessing fundamentals
- Clarification and chromatography
- Tangential flow filtration
- Future trends in Biopharma
Who should attend:
- All operations and manufacturing management staff wishing to gain a complete overview of the entire biomanufacturing process. This course would also be beneficial for freshly onboarded process development staff who need to obtain end-to-end knowledge of bioprocessing.
Course dates
