Short courses

Course overview

This series of interactive workshops stimulates debate, excites your curiosity and challenges the way you think. You are introduced to primary and secondary sources and to the methods of historical enquiry required at degree level. The course provides a springboard into undergraduate study with topics explicitly linked to the core subjects of the first year of our BA (Hons) History. You examine the plight of internal refugees in Nazi occupied France, explore the impact of Luther and the European reformation, and consider the significance of documents and photographs in helping us to understand how ordinary people lived.

Summer University 2019 has now finished. We will be running a range of short courses as part of Winter University in January 2020. Our Winter University 2020 brochure will be available in November - please register your details here if you would like to receive a brochure when it is available.
