Foundation Physics by Blended Learning


Course overview

This course helps you into the first year of an undergraduate degree at Teesside University that includes level 3 physics as an entry requirement. You study properties of matter, energy, mechanics, electricity and magnetism and

Blended learning is ideal if you are unable to attend classes at the University on a weekly basis. You have access to detailed learning materials to help you study the core topics in a way that suits you. An online tutor is available if you require help and guidance with your learning.

*Please note that the experimental skills day and the examination are compulsory and require attendance at Teesside University's Middlesbrough campus.*

You can apply for multiple Summer University certificate courses on one application form (up to a maximum of 30 credits).
If you apply for multiple courses, please check delivery times and ensure there are no clashes.

Where you study

This course is delivered by blended learning. Resources will be made available online, but you must attend Teesside University's Middlesbrough campus for an experimental skills day on Wednesday 17 July and an examination on Wednesday 7 August.

How you are assessed

Formative Assessment:
Formative assessment will include in-class exercises and online tests whenever possible.

Summative Assessment:
Written examination 100%

GCSE science or equivalent is a prerequisite for this course.
