Course overview

Social media digital content creation in recent years has become pivotal to the successful marketing and growth of brands worldwide.

You explore digital content creation, marketing techniques and brand development, as well as some of the skills to become a social media influencer and entrepreneur. You develop a concept for a social media brand or campaign.

Summer university

Start date: Starts Monday 7 June, Mondays and Wednesdays for four weeks, 6.00pm - 9.00pm

Applications open early April.

This course is delivered online. Please check the entry requirements tab before making your application to ensure you meet the entry criteria and have all the minimum equipment necessary to take part.

You can study up to 30 credits at Summer University and you can select up to three modules on the same application form. If you would like to add a module later, or change one of your choices, then please email summer.university@tees.ac.uk.

Course details

What you study

- digital storytelling using audio, video and images
- principles of editing audio, video and images appropriate for the medium
- optimise online content so it is shareable and findable
- presentational and interpersonal skills
- digital marketing skills to build an online presence
- techniques and approaches required to engage with online audiences and platforms through social media marketing, content creation and influencing.

How you are assessed

You are assessed through the production and development of an online digital portfolio during class sessions, and in your own time.

 
 

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Ensure your laptop or PC can run Adobe Creative Suite.

You require a digital tablet or smartphone to capture video, audio and images.

As this is an online course you need access to a computer and be comfortable learning through an online platform. A strong and stable internet connection is required, and a webcam and microphone to participate in any interactive elements of the course.

International applicants must have an IELTS overall score of 5.5 or higher.
