Year 1 core modules

Business Project Management

You gain the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience needed to successfully manage projects from initial design through to final evaluation. You work on real-life projects that require both primary and secondary research, data analysis, and the development of actionable conclusions and recommendations for organisations. By engaging with practical, real-world scenarios, you build a strong foundation in project planning, execution, and review –preparing you to lead and contribute effectively to projects in any professional setting.

Contemporary Marketing Practices

Core concepts and essential skills needed to understand how marketing works in practice are explored. You gain a solid foundation in key areas such as market research, segmentation, buyer behaviour, and brand positioning. You focus on the marketing mix of product, price, place, and promotion, and how each element influences marketing strategies and customer engagement. You gain a clear understanding of how marketing decisions are made and how they impact business success in a competitive marketplace.

Employee Management

Key topics include recruitment and employee retention strategies, as well as important considerations around contract termination. You develop a foundational understanding of how effective HRM practices contribute to building strong teams and supporting organisational success.

Financial Accounting and Reporting

You are introduced to the frameworks in which organisations operate and report their financial statements. You have the opportunity to practice preparing statements for a variety of organisational types and learn how to understand and interpret financial statements used by organisations.

Issues in the Contemporary Business Environment

You gain an introduction to the key elements of the business environment, providing the essential foundation for your future studies. You explore a range of organisations and dive into core concepts such as business responsibilities, market forces, stakeholder roles, and the external factors that impact decision-making. Management Accounting

Gain a clear understanding of key costing methodologies used across business and manufacturing industries, with a strong focus on practical application. You explore different approaches to budgeting and learn how to use variance analysis as a tool for financial control and performance evaluation. You apply management accounting tools to more advanced areas such as investment appraisal and limiting factor analysis. Business Fintech Systems

Enhance your understanding of modern financial information technology (IT) systems and how organisations use them to gain and sustain a competitive edge. You examine how businesses develop and continuously adapt their IT strategies to meet evolving demands. You also explore key areas where financial IT systems add value and discover how fintech is being leveraged as a powerful driver of innovation and business improvement. By the end of the module, you have insight into the strategic role of technology in financial decision-making and operational efficiency.

Economics and International Business Strategy

Explore how national, transnational, and global businesses operate, using both micro and macroeconomic theory as a foundation. You apply economic concepts and policies to past and present events, gaining insight into how they influence the global business landscape. In addition, you develop practical tools to analyse a business’s external and internal environments, enabling you to contribute to the creation of effective strategic plans. You critically examine and apply strategic planning frameworks to real-world business scenarios, helping you understand their value and application in today’s competitive markets.

Financial Management

Explore the core principles and strategies of financial management, with a focus on maximising shareholder wealth and supporting long-term organisational growth. You explore how financial decision-making contributes to sustainable business performance and strategic success. Throughout the module, you develop a solid understanding of key financial management concepts and gain insight into the role of the management accountant within a broader financial system. Operations and Supply Chain Management

Statistics for Business Decision Making

Year 3 core modules

Advanced Financial Accounting

Explore recording and reporting complex events, developing knowledge and understanding by analysing and interpreting financial information. You cover the development of accounting standards and external reporting in a UK and international context.

Ethical Frameworks and International Corporate Governance

Consider and apply relevant ethical frameworks and critically analyse and evaluate the frameworks of corporate governance within an international organisational context, considering areas of internal control, compliance and the management of risk in the context of an overall ethical framework.

Finance and International Financial Markets

Explore the core concepts of the financial sector and the key tools used to analyse financial markets and monetary policy. You gain a solid understanding of how financial systems operate within an economy and the role they play in economic stability and growth. The module covers three main areas: the development and functioning of financial markets and institutions; the role of central banks, financial regulation, and monetary and exchange rate policy; and the workings of derivatives markets and risk management strategies. By the end, you have a comprehensive understanding of how financial markets operate and how policy decisions impact the wider economy.

Undergraduate Business Research Methods

Gain the skills and knowledge to design, conduct, and evaluate both qualitative and quantitative research in business contexts. You explore a range of research methodologies including exploratory, descriptive, and causal approaches, and learn how to apply them effectively to real-world business challenges. You develop the ability to identify and define research problems, choose appropriate methods to investigate them, and present your findings in a clear and structured way. By the end of the module, you are confident in using research as a powerful tool to inform business decisions and strategy.

Undergraduate Finance and Accounting Research Project

You undertake and present a significant piece of independent research, employing the systematic analysis of your chosen subject area in the fields of international finance or business accounting.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

You must have confirmation of completed high school (secondary school) or previous college education, which may include:

  • a Czech high school diploma (maturita)
  • two A-level passes
  • equivalent education from other countries (assessed individually).
Students with relevant experience or equivalent education in some course subjects may be eligible for advanced credit upon completion of the required Assessment of Prior Learning or Experience documentation.

Proof of English proficiency for all international students, demonstrated by one of the following:
  • IELTS score of 6.0 or higher
  • Versant language exam score equivalent to IELTS 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT score of at least 79
  • Cambridge FCE (Grade A).
A letter of motivation (approximately 300 words).
Final interview through a formal discussion with the applicant to confirm the application process.
