Core modules
Gain knowledge in a range of research strategies, design and methodologies, developing an understanding of the processes involved in conducting effective research while pursuing your own research interests. You gain an appreciation of how theoretical principles play a part in the research process and the importance of presenting clear and credible argumentation and evidence to support both the research design and the study’s findings. Good research is also dependent on strong interpersonal and project management skills, and the ability to assess current skill sets and create development plans to meet project needs and demands. These elements are illustrated throughout the course.
You integrate learning and development and synthesise knowledge and understanding of theory and practice through its application to organisational issues, which are demonstrably concerned with development within the organisation(s). You work towards this by undertaking a major project related to a business issue of significance within the organisation(s), integrating the knowledge acquired during study and combining it effectively with work activities. Following submission of your dissertation you are formally and in-person required to defend the proposed solutions.
Global Business Environment: Management and the Economy
You develop a critical understanding of the international business environment, with a focus on understanding the globalisation process, the global economy, and its impact on international business organisations. You focus on core topics that are central to understanding the processes of the global economy and the economic environment within which business organisations operate. You gain an essential knowledge base to develop an understanding of the external business environment, including institutions, markets, industries and organisations. Economic analysis, micro- and macroeconomics and research and analysis of the external factors affecting the business environment are explored.
Managing Operations and Finance
Examine the principles and practice of financial and operations management within organisations. Focus on the need to manage resources efficiently and effectively within a dynamic environment to demonstrate its achievement through the provision and use of operational and financial information. The module reflects the environment within which organisations find themselves and examines the pressures and impact this has upon organisational control.
Managing People in Global Organisations
You gain an understanding that organisations need to tap into the skills and knowledge of their increasingly skilled and knowledgeable employees if they are going to be successful. You focus on the recruitment and development of talent in for a global team.
Strategic Management in an International Context
You gain an insight into the principles of strategic analysis, design and implementation in an international context.
You focus on becoming self-reflective and develop your self-leadership skills, to help guide your future career. In a fast paced 21st-century organisation and with a move towards more global sustainability, leaders need to be adept at navigating internal and external challenges, therefore a creative and entrepreneurial approach to leadership is essential to organisational agility and success.

During your studies you:

- complete a dissertation that allows you to explore an international management topic in depth, producing a substantial piece of self-directed work.
How you are assessed
Assessments test your subject knowledge, critical thinking, and workplace-ready skills. You take part in a mix of assignments, business reports, case studies, presentations, research proposals, literature reviews, and your final dissertation. You complete assessments individually or in groups, with opportunities for feedback throughout to help you improve. Where relevant, you’re also assessed on your presentation and report-writing skills.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for the programme, you must have completed an undergraduate degree and current or relevant work experience, preferably at a team lead, supervisory or management level.
1. Confirmation of completed bachelor’s degree which could be one of the following:
- British honours degree, first or second class division
- postgraduate qualification or equivalent, or relevant professional qualification
- minimum of two years full-time relevant working experience in a management area and currently employed in such a role.
- you must also meet the language requirements for the programme.

- TOEFL iBT score of at least 90
