As experts in educational practice, academia and research, we help you to identify and follow the career path you want. Come to Teesside University to study - we will nurture your talent and find and develop your strengths. With us you can pick from a range of programmes in education, early years or working with children and young people, from undergraduate to postgraduate level. We have the right course for you.
Teaching and learning
Our programmes are delivered by a range of dedicated professionals - we work with you to tailor your learning experience whenever possible. With us you are placed at the centre of your learning. Your needs, aspirations and desires lead your development as an educator.
You can study the type of programme that suits your lifestyle. For example, you can join practical or applied programmes, which you can study part time or through blended learning if you are already working or practicing in an education setting. We even offer weekend study for busy professionals in some courses, such as the Doctorate in Education. And there are options to study more traditional academic programmes as a full-time student, which can lead you into a number of careers.
These programmes provide you with the chance to gain real work experience in educational settings with opportunities to develop your entrepreneurial skills as well. The learning environment and facilities are outstanding at both our Middlesbrough and Darlington campuses. Research and research-informed teaching is at the heart of everything we do, and innovation in learning and teaching is central to our philosophy.
We innovate, you educate
We have a lively and enterprising research culture. Many of our staff are actively involved in cutting-edge research, publishing in academic journals and writing textbooks with national and international readerships. At Teesside you study within a community that offers a range of innovative, practitioner-focused programmes of study. And we take a research-informed lead in setting the national agenda for practitioners working in early years, schools, further education colleges and youth work settings.
We have a lively postgraduate research culture with opportunities for full- and part-time study - these can lead to either generic or specialist qualifications. Research is one of the things that can set universities apart from other higher education and professional learning providers.
Here you have the chance to work with staff who are acknowledged experts in their field. They draw on both their research and experience as practitioners to develop you as outstanding educators.
