Why Teesside?

The course is delivered at Stockton Riverside College, which is close to where I live so it was easy for me to study alongside working and raising a family. They also offered the course I wanted. I’m currently working with children and I wanted to expand my knowledge and skills to progress into a higher position.

Best thing about your course?

I have made some supportive friends who have helped motivate and challenge me. I enjoyed the personal professional development modules and used them to help navigate through university life. Setting targets has helped me progress both personally and professionally.

What skills have you gained?

Reflective thinking has been a great lesson, helping me look back at different situations and develop into the practitioner I want to be.

What do you think about the college and teaching?

The college campus is ideal – the private rooms for higher education students are good to work in and the teaching is great. The lessons are motivating and challenging, I’ve learnt a great deal and can ask plenty of questions for development.

Future ambitions?

To complete the top-up degree - BA (Hons) Education and Training (Supporting Teaching and Learning), then progress to a teaching course such as a PGCE or equivalent.
