About | Design a marketing campaign: team challenge

Year 12 and 13 students from a range of subjects work together to design a real-world marketing campaign, following a brief set by Teesside University Business School.

Forming teams from a combination of relevant subject disciplines (art and design, business, English, media studies, psychology and sociology), students join to develop a campaign from initial concept through to final pitch. We also welcome teams from one single subject area.
Each team must produce a strategy and campaign which identifies:
• target audiences, their needs and motivations
• appropriate marketing channels
• strapline
• creative assets
• written pitch.

The challenge
This collaborative experience incorporates real-business practice and gives students the opportunity to see how their subject area has a part to plan in the marketing department of any successful business. Students gain an understanding of the varied roles within a marketing team, encouraging all team members to be problem solvers, decision makers, strategists, analysts and creative thinkers.
Each team member contributes in pitching the final concept to a team of judges through an electronic platform (video, narrated PowerPoint).

How to enter
To enter a team, email your expressions of interest to or use the booking link above, the brief will then follow.
Finalists showcase their creativity and business acumen and compete to win a prize at an awards ceremony held at Teesside University Business School.
