Her studies within Teesside University International Business School on the BA (Hons) Marketing course helped prepare her for the professional role through high-quality industry experience.

Evelyn, 24, who moved to Teesside from Newcastle, said: “Teesside University really stood out to me because certain modules allowed me the chance to gain real-life work experience, especially with local businesses.

“The best thing about my university experience was that the course really allowed me to get stuck in. It offered me opportunities to work to professional briefs by participating in the Greggs Marketing Challenge and the Teesside Marketing Clinic.

“I met some great people and had the privilege of learning from lecturers and other students who also had real-world experience.

“All students on the course got to work with local businesses and create strategies to improve their marketing – which prepared me well for what I do in my current role.”

Evelyn added: “I am now working as an email marketing executive for an agency that specialises in e-commerce.

“My day-to-day involves managing and liaising with clients, building email marketing strategies and campaigns for a variety of clients in different industries, and briefing and supporting our creative team in the design of email campaigns.

“No two days are exactly the same, and I love that there is a lot to be involved in.”

As a graduate from the class of 2021, Evelyn says she is very proud to return to Teesside University to celebrate her academic accomplishments with family, tutors and course mates.

She added: “A lot of hard work and dedication went into completing the course so being able to celebrate achieving a first-class degree as part of a ceremony is fantastic.
