About us

Campus Community Pledge

We are pleased to welcome our colleagues, students and visitors back to the University campus, and ask that everyone across our University Community commits to this Pledge, which sets out the behaviours we must all adopt to protect and support each other. Each one of us has a critical role to play in reducing the spread of Covid-19.

The University commits to behaving responsibly in putting measures in place to prioritise the safety, health and wellbeing of everyone on our campus. This includes addressing instances of behaviours which do not match our collective expectations or meet our University Values, in particular 'taking responsibility' and 'communicating respectfully'.

 Campus Community Pledge

  • We will take a collaborative approach to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our campus community, with collective responsibility and shared action taken.
  • We pledge to follow Government guidance and University advice, taking a common sense approach to reducing risk. We will take responsibility for keeping up to date with guidance as it is updated.
  • We will follow the guidance given across campus signage and from building marshals, in ensuring that we maintain social distancing and maintain good hygiene practices.
  • We will, unless exempt, wear a face covering where necessary on campus.
  • We will practice tolerance and mutual respect at all times, acting as good citizens to support our classmates, colleagues and the wider community.
  • We pledge to respect travel restrictions and to take a common sense approach to reducing the risk of spread.
  • We will notify the University immediately if we display any symptoms of Covid-19 or if we receive a positive test result. (Students will contact the Student Wellbeing Team and Staff will contact their line manager).
  • We understand that we will need to share information with national test and trace teams if requested, and will engage with the University's preferred method for checking in/out of campus (Safezone).
