Teesside University is committed to ensuring that everyone with the talent to succeed at university has the opportunity to enrol.

We understand that the current situation is unsettling, and we want to reassure you that we will be as flexible as possible in our offer making and in confirming student places when results are received, and any other outstanding conditions are met.

Our next intakes are expected to go ahead as planned and we will carry on monitoring the situation and keep you informed.

How will my course be delivered?

We expect your course content and delivery to remain as previously advertised. However, we are prepared to adapt our delivery to you in the event that there are further government restrictions that affect our operations. You can find any course-specific delivery guidance below.

Will the fees for my course remain the same?

Yes, we are planning for your course fees to remain the same as detailed on the webpage for your chosen course of study.

Will I get access to a device/relevant software for my virtual study? What if I don't have a laptop? Will I get any help with this?

Through Teesside University Advance, we are planning to issue an Apple iPad device to all undergraduate students entering Year 1 or a Foundation year.
More about our Advance Scheme

Our Student & Library Services already provide a laptop loans service through which we are planning to make some devices available to be borrowed.

Some courses may require access to specialist software. You can be assured that you will have everything you need to complete your course and achieve your learning outcomes.

Will everything be open on campus as usual?

We are planning on having facilities and resources open on campus but access to these may be subject to some restrictions to help us ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment for all users. We are planning for shared areas and resources to be frequently cleaned and there may be a limit on the number of students accessing facilities and resources in one location at the same time.

My course includes a work placement. Will I still be able to go on placement?

We will be in touch with further information about arrangements for any work placement as part of your course. Where work placements are unable to go ahead, we will further advise on the alternate arrangements that are being put in place to ensure you are still able to meet your course requirements.

If I have applied for a course which requires an interview, will I still be able to do this?

If the course you've applied for usually requires an interview you'll still be able to do this. We'll be in touch about how we can conduct your interview remotely.

What if the grade I am awarded is not a fair reflection of my performance?

We will be flexible in our decision making to ensure no applicants are unfairly disadvantaged.
