Teesside University hosts first UK Renewables Academy
The first ever course dedicated to educating industry professionals about offshore and hydrogen energy has taken place at Teesside University.
The UK Renewables Academy has been developed in association with international law firm Stephenson Harwood and HKA, a leading global consultancy in risk mitigation and dispute resolution, to offer professionals insight and training into all aspects of the renewable energy industry.
The first ‘Introduction to Offshore Wind’ course, which took place at the Teesside University International Business School saw 85 professionals given a comprehensive overview of offshore wind projects.
Topics covered throughout the four-day course included:
- The UK renewable and wind market
- Transportation and logistics
- Windfarm commissioning
- Windfarm insurance
- Hydrogen production
- Contractor management
As well as speakers from Stephenson Harwood and HKA, there were also talks from representatives from a range of leading businesses in the renewables sector including, SBM Offshore, Allianz, Unasys, Protium Green Solutions and Monobase Wind.
