BA (Hons) Business Management

Teesside has helped develop my problem-solving skills and my ability to think outside the box

Why Teesside?

The campus and facilities are always improving as the University continues to invest in the student experience. Teesside is my local University so it made sense, but it also has a great reputation in terms of putting students first and making sure they get everything they need to achieve the absolute best they can.

Why business management?

Business is something I was always interested in and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in that sector. The course ticked every box and I really liked the sound of the modules and the topics that would be covered.

Favourite thing about the course?

I enjoy the variety of the modules, from Human Resources, to International Management, the modules are varied and cover a wide range of topics. The variety in teaching styles is something I also enjoy. Learning takes place in lectures, seminars, flipped learning and other less orthodox teaching methods.

How are the facilities?

The student workspaces are excellent, especially the new Student Life Building. I often use the Library to study as it provides a range of study spaces depending on what you want. The careers services provide students with crucial support for preparing for the future, such as increasing employability, preparing for job interviews and finding placements.

What skills have you gained while at Teesside?

Teesside has helped develop my problem-solving skills and my ability to think outside the box. This was important for many of my assignments and I will be able to use these skills in a professional setting. My research skills have also improved, and I am extremely comfortable being given an area to research and using my initiative along with a variety of sources to find useful information.

Would you recommend Teesside?

Yes, absolutely. The facilities and support available are of the highest standard and the staff want nothing but to see their students achieve the absolute best. I would recommend my course to anyone with an interest in business. It is perfect for developing your knowledge of business and gaining both theoretical and practical skills.
