New International Summer Programme at Teesside University

02 August 2018

Teesside University held its inaugural International Summer Programme from 2 - 28 July with great success. The programme included academic modules in digital marketing, games animation & visual effects, international law, English language and personal and professional development sessions.

Supported by a team of staff, visitors from China, Pakistan and Myanmar experienced life as a student, academically and socially, immersing themselves in the culture, activities and natural beauty of Teesside and the surrounding area. This included a wide range of excursions and social activity, from raft building, hiking, bowling, historical location visits, a street festival and even a crash-course in sandcastle making.

The event was completed with a three-course dinner at a prestigious restaurant where staff and students were presented with a certificate of completion and the chance to wear the Teesside University cap and gown.

Feedback from the students included comments of high praise, including “The quality of education is superb…this is the best trip ever”, “All staff were co-operative and nice “and “Everything is perfect”.

Mya Myint Thu (Torrey), a participant from Myanmar, said "The UK’s educational system is splendid and what makes Teesside University Summer Programme exceptional is the unlimited opportunities and support they can offer in such a short time.

“I always thought studying in the UK was an impossible dream but after the programme, it made me promise myself that I would definitely come back to study in the future because it makes me wonder if two weeks could change me this much, what kind of person I would become in two years.
