Dr Tony Chapman, Institute Director joins Ignite

Tony Chapman recently joined the Ignite steering group to help take forward the regeneration agenda in the North East.

IGNITE co-ordinates and better informs regeneration practitioners who are involved in the challenging task of planning, developing and maintaining sustainable communities. In North East England there are about 280 organisations involved in this regeneration activity.

What makes IGNITE special is that it is an interactive knowledge management system and learning network which will ensure that the impact of our efforts are amplified across the region. Regenerating North East England is still a major challenge, but new research from the University's Social Futures Institute is exploring ways of strengthening sustainable communities.
