MINI marvel for marketing students

11 December 2008

Students from the MSc Marketing Management programme enjoyed a day trip to the MINI plant in Oxford.

The group were given a tour of the factory and followed the progress of the production of a MINI, from a sheet of metal to the finished MINI Cooper.

MSc Marketing Management students are currently working on a live project for Preston Hall MINI and the dealership arranged the tour of the Oxford factory.

Noel Dennis, Principal Lecturer in Marketing and module leader for Strategic Marketing Planning, said it was a truly fabulous trip.

He added: ‘It was amazing to see how these exciting little cars are put together and, more importantly for the students, to see how the theory works in practice.’

Noel’s enthusiasm was shared by the students.

Ellie Kendrick said: ‘It was a fantastic day and was really useful and interesting to see an organisation at production level and how this related to their business and marketing strategy.’

Adam Cuthbert added: ‘It gave us all a chance to bond and see what really happens on the production lines and how that relates to marketing.’
