Ray Arthur has published a refereed article Protecting the best interests of the child: a comparative analysis of the youth justice systems in Ireland, England and Scotland in the International Journal of Children’s Rights.

Ray Arthur has also been invited by the European Society of Criminology to join a working group on Juvenile Justice and Youth Protection, and participate in the production of a report to the Ministries of Justice of participant countries, EU member states and the European Commission on Reforming Juvenile Justice. Ray is also presenting at the North East Crime Studies Inaugural Symposium, in May 2009, on The Demise of Welfare Considerations in the Youth Justice System.

Dan Eaves with J. Rookwood, has published an article Like Everton, you’re just a small club – perceptions of greatness in British club football in the Journal of Qualitative Research in sports Studies.

Emma Martin and Pauline Ramshaw are presenting a joint paper at the British Criminology conference in June entitled IPLDP: The First Five Years and Pauline is presenting a second paper The Police Officer in the Community.

Ian McLeod has published an article Why not Fix the Date of Easter, and also a book review of ‘Towards a European Criminal Record’, in Criminal Law and Justice Weekly. He has also, with Kay Goodall, Stirling, contributed the Statute Law chapter in the All England Law Reports Annual Review 2008, and the seventh edition of his textbook Legal Method has been published by Palgrave Macmillan.
