Postgraduate scholarship opportunities

09 September 2013

Teesside University is offering even more postgraduate scholarship opportunities for international students after signing up for three innovative schemes.

Firstly, the Indonesia-UK DIKTI Scholarship Programme is now open for lecturers at Indonesian universities and administrative staff at DIKTI and Indonesian state universities, to undertake postgraduate study at many leading universities and higher education institutions in the UK.

The programme will fund up to 750 academics to come and study in the UK over the next five years. All academic subjects are eligible for funding under the DIKTI programme.

Secondly, the University has also been approved to receive PhD or Master’s students from Vietnam sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam International Education Development under the Projects 911 and 599.

Further details on the scheme are available on the VIED website.

The third scheme is Science without Borders (SwB), which aims to support students from Brazil coming to the UK to study for PhD programmes.

The University originally participated in the undergraduate SwB programme and is about to welcome our second cohort of students, so being able to extend the scheme to PhD students is a great development.

Keith Brown, Director of International Development, said: ‘Here at the University we are continually looking at the options of study we have available for international students.

‘These new schemes will allow us to attract students, lecturers and administrative staff from Brazil, Indonesia and Vietnam, and are a great addition to the programmes we currently offer here at Teesside.’
