Professor strengthens links with Irish university

17 November 2015

A Teesside University Professor was invited to the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin to help launch a new Research and Teaching Centre.

Professor Steve Hall, Professor of Criminology at Teesside, met with the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, at the launch of the University College Cork’s Centre for the Study of Moral Foundations of Economy & Society.

The Centre was set up to study the manner in which the development of the modern global economy has damaged social life and well-being and, to examine ways in which Irish society can work towards ethical living.

Professor Hall works closely with the University College Cork and is an external examiner for its undergraduate criminology degree. His books are also used as texts on a number of modules and the University offers an annual Steve Hall Prize for the best dissertation.
