BA (Hons) Performing Arts student Chloe McLean has written, directed and produced STIGMA, a show featuring monologues, duologues and drama, along with dance and theatre pieces.

Chloe, 22, from Billingham, who is completing her studies at Stockton Riverside College in partnership with Teesside University, said: 'I created STIGMA to raise awareness of mental illnesses and promote acceptance in society using both comedy and raw emotion.

'I've aimed to create a platform so people can understand and gain insight into what it is like to live with mental illness. It is inspired by real people and aims to show an accurate portrayal of mental illness through characterisation.'

Chloe worked with mental health charity Health Matters while devising her show. She added: 'My aim is to hopefully strip away some of the stigmas attached to mental health.'

STIGMA can be seen at Stockton Riverside College at 7pm on Thursday 4 May. Tickets are £5 adult and £4 concessions. The show is aimed at an adult audience.Ticket details
