Chattida (Mo) Ajjimakul (left) came from Thailand to study MA Animation & Visual Effects.

“As an international master’s student, the most valuable experience at Teesside has been the facilities. I have had access to the newest industry standard software and technology. It has been a tough year with lots of hard work, so to be graduating with a distinction award is beyond my expectation.

The staff and my course mates have been excellent. I was surrounded by talented students and we encouraged each other to push our work to the next level.

I have been working as a 3D Artist at Animmersion since November 2017. In the future, I plan to work in the Animation-VFX industry for at least four years before I become a lecturer at a university in Thailand. In the next year, I will be working as a 3D animator at an Animation-VFX studio or visualisation company. I will continue to play my favourite musical instruments and hang out with my beloved people.”

Yin Yi Gan (right) came from Malaysia to study BA (Hons) Fashion Enterprise and gave the valedictory address at her graduation ceremony.

“It feels very exciting to be graduating, I finally get to make my family proud having achieved a first-class honours degree!

I have had a lot of great experiences and have made many memories at Teesside University. The amazing staff and the friends I have made enhanced my learning adventure here in the UK. With the help and support from the staff, I was able to explore many possibilities within my projects, and volunteer at the major fashion event, London Graduate Fashion Week, for insight into the industry. These opportunities have helped me build a solid pathway towards my future career.

I plan to study a master’s degree but would like to gain some experience working in the fashion industry first. In one year’s time, I hope to be working in the marketing department of a fashion house and preparing myself for a master’s degree.”
