Women's football

Our women's football team celebrate their success

With state of the art facilities, a new coach and sports science and sports therapy support, it’s an exciting time for women’s football at Teesside.

The University has two teams competing in the British University and College Sport programme, where one of our teams scooped the treble in the 2009/10 season.

It’s not only students and alumni who can join women’s football at Teesside – members of the local community are also encouraged to play.

Girls’ centre of excellence

Teesside is delighted to announce it has been successful in becoming a licensed FA girls’ centre of excellence, making us the the only University in the country to hold such a licence.

As part of the FA’s new centre of excellence structure, there will be only 30 centres across the country and Teesside University will be the only centre of excellence in the North East.

The centre of excellence includes teams in age groups under-9, under-11, under-13, under-15 and under 17.

For more information on the girls’ centre of excellence contact Paul Kreczak on 01642 342287, mobile 07500 120398, email

Making the most of our natural environment, Teesside is the place to row with one of the best stretches of river in the country.

We are a stakeholder in the excellent River Tees Watersports Centre, making rowing accessible to all and providing opportunities for elite training and competition.

We also have strong links with the British Rowing World Class Start scheme and a number of current Great Britain international athletes have trained and studied at Teesside, including club president and world under-23 silver medallist Ben Rowe.
