Psychology
We explore the potential benefits and harms associated with alcohol use, focussing on underage people. We look at how to design a research project that involves asking young people about their experiences with alcohol, including the process of gaining ethical approval. We work together to create an interview schedule before taking part in a mock focus group, using the questions we have developed. Discussions may explore young people's perceptions of the benefits and harms of alcohol use, as well as strategies that could support reduced drinking or abstinence, and conclude with identifying any common patterns in the data we generate.
