Is your company ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

Changes to data protection legislation come into force on 25 May 2018. For all organisations, they will mean much more stringent, legally binding obligations about the storage and handling of personal information.

With tougher penalties for breaches and non-compliance, your company needs to be preparing now for GDPR .

At this breakfast event, three industry specialists will provide an overview on key aspects of GDPR, and help you understand the changes you need to make to ensure compliance.

The speakers:

Ian Elcoate (MD, Tad Web Solutions)
Tad Web Solutions is a web development agency set up by Ian, an award-winning alumnus of Teesside University,

The company primarily develops bespoke web-based software for clients in the manufacturing, professional services and marketing sectors along with client-focused visualisation tools and other customer-facing enhancements for e-commerce clients.

Drawing on his extensive experience of client data and data-processing procedures across all sectors, Ian will talk about the software side of GDPR, including data collection and storage, data access controls and encryption, and privacy by design.

Eddie Buck (Director, SHR International)
SHR International is a human resources consultancy business, boasting a combined 59 years of experience in all aspects of people management and development.

Eddie will focus on the ‘people’ aspect of GDPR, helping you to ensure your employees understand their responsibilities and the importance of compliance.
