17 February 2003 @TeesUniNews

The University of Teesside is hosting a series of events to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March, entitled We Create.

Based primarily at the University’s Centre for Enterprise, off Victoria Road, Middlesbrough, We Create promises an exciting array of women’s art, design and writing. There will also be networking and seminar sessions explaining how these creative endeavours can lead to business opportunities for entrepreneurial women.

Carol Cooke, Cultural & Creative Industries Development Manager, said: “We Create is an amazing celebration of the creative and business skills of women. As well as learning from the experiences of local leading business women, you can create story boards in animation work shops, take part in textile design and computer games design, writing workshops, take a Virtual Reality journey and much more.”

We Create is part of the build up to International Women’s Day on Saturday 8 March.

All events are free (except for a screening of the film Rabbit-Proof Fence on Thursday 6 March, £4 or £3 for NUS members) and open to women and men.
