Open your mind at Teesside’s open day

25 August 2004

Do you want to explore the worlds of Crime Scene Investigation, Computer Games Design, Criminology and Disaster Management? Then head to the University of Teesside’s Open Day on Wednesday 15 September from 10am - 4.30pm, where you can learn about the opportunities available, including the above courses and many more.

The Open Day is free and open to all members of the public, with ‘taster’ talks from all academic schools giving people a flavour of their chosen subjects and tours of the whole campus throughout the day. Advice sessions will also be available about the application process, accommodation, graduate careers and student finance.

Karen Bain, from the University of Teesside’s School & College’s Liaison team, said: “The University Open Day is a great way to get a feel for our campus. We’ve invested over £70m the campus and have got some fantastic facilities, like our new Olympia sports building.

“As well as traditional degrees, we also have Master degree courses and the innovative Foundation Degrees. These new qualifications are ideal for people who are already in work and are looking for ways to further their careers by increasing their on the job skills.”

New degree subjects launched this year include: Investigative Studies, Forensic Biology and Digital Music.

Due to the structure of the Open Day, anyone wishing to attend must book a place. Please contact the Schools and Colleges Liaison office on 01642 342275.
