Teesside University London digital campus workstream has been shortlisted in the UCISA (Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association) Awards 2024.

The awards celebrate the achievement of staff involved in digital solutions which transform the experience of students, academics and professional staff.

UCISA is the member-led professional body for IT and digital practitioners in UK education, leading digital value in the sector. The award shortlisting is in the Sustainable Digital Project or Initiative category, which celebrates innovative activity which provides exceptional value to the institution and demonstrates a positive environmental sustainability impact for the future.

Teesside University London, based at Here East, opened its doors to the first students towards the end of last year. The campus is bringing in-demand subjects to new markets, with an initial focus on digital technologies and enterprise.

The award submission centred on the innovative digital solutions needed to ensure new students had the best learning, teaching and support service experience, using expertise, software and services required to underpin student success and provide students with specialist computing resources in a sustainable, scalable and effective way.

Measures introduced included innovative Cloud Labs, which enable access to specialist computing hardware and software, along with a ‘bring your own device’ voucher scheme to reduce e-waste, loan lockers, and digital lab spaces.

The range of innovative and flexible degree and master’s courses on offer to students at Teesside University London includes animation, gaming, visual effects, business, and computer science degrees.
