The NBioP is a strategic partnership between the NHC, CPI and FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, joining together to accelerate the development of a globally significant biosciences hub in the North East.
The partnership has expertise in the full life cycle of biopharmaceuticals, from basic and applied bioprocessing research, through to biopharmaceutical scale-up and ultimately, the commercial manufacture of life changing medicines.
Established in 2020, the hub is helping to develop new tools and technologies for biomanufacturing, training the next generation in cutting-edge technologies and enabling businesses to innovate and have a real-world impact much faster.
With this, the NBioP aims to position the North East’s biosciences capabilities on a global scale, supporting the attraction of investment, businesses and skills to the region.
The North East has a thriving biosciences sector that is globally competitive, vibrant, and viable. This collaboration will enable us to draw on the best of research, workforce development, innovation and manufacturing to enable companies to develop, prove, scale-up and manufacture new products that will improve the quality of life of people around the world
