Tell us why you decided to go to university and why you chose Teesside University London?

I decided to pursue higher education to deepen my understanding of the dynamic marketing landscape. I was drawn to Teesside University London because of its strong industry connections and focus on practical application.

The MSc Marketing programme offered a comprehensive curriculum that combined theoretical knowledge with real-world case studies and opportunities for professional development, which has equipped me with the necessary skills to succeed in a competitive job market.

Why did you choose your course?

I chose an MSc in Marketing to deepen my understanding of this field and enhance my career prospects. The advanced degree provides specialised knowledge, in-demand skills like data analysis and digital marketing and valuable industry experience through internships and networking opportunities. It also positions me for career advancement with increased earning potential and access to senior roles.

What do you like most about your course and why? Are there any modules you really enjoy?

What I enjoyed most about my course was the practical focus and the emphasis on developing real-world skills. The curriculum effectively blended theoretical knowledge with hands-on projects, case studies and industry insights, which made learning engaging and relevant.

One of my favourite modules was 'Digital Communications'. This module provided in-depth knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends and technologies, including social media marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), content marketing and online advertising. The practical exercises and assignments helped me develop a strong understanding of how to leverage these channels to build brand awareness, engage with target audiences and drive business growth.

What do you think about the campus?

The London campus is new, and the ambience is perfect for any students. The tea station area provides free coffee and tea, as well as the microwaves to warm up food.

The classes are highly equipped with modern technology to establish nonstop services while taking classes.

How have your tutors supported you?

The professors and lectures are supportive and cooperative in every way. Even outside the class, they provide suggestions about how we can develop our careers and tips and tricks to compete in the job market.

Why did you choose to study in London instead of a different town or city?

London's career opportunities within a global business and finance hub provides invaluable access to internships, networking events and potential employers. Also, the city's world-class museums, theatres and art galleries offer an enriching and diverse experience.

Have you had the opportunity to gain skills and experience by watching any guest speakers or taking part in any networking events or industry workshops, that will enhance your CV and support your career goals?

Yes, I have gained valuable skills and experience through attending a networking event at Teesside University London. I had the opportunity to hear from Paul Sullivan, the Founder of Digital Bias and a Plexal community member. He shared his engaging teaching style and provided relatable insights into his journey as a tech entrepreneur. This experience enhanced my understanding of entrepreneurship, improved my networking skills, and introduced me to exciting internship opportunities with Digital Bias and Plexal.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My future ambitions revolve around integrating my graphic design skills with the strategic digital marketing knowledge I'm acquiring through this degree. I envision a career where I can leverage both disciplines to create impactful and engaging marketing campaigns.

What advice would you offer to students thinking of studying at Teesside University London?

My advice to prospective students considering Teesside University London is to thoroughly research the specific programmes that interest them, ensuring they align with their academic and career goals. I would also emphasise the importance of exploring the vibrant London environment and leveraging the city's vast resources, including internship opportunities and networking events.

Additionally, I would encourage them to connect with current students and alumni to gain firsthand insights into the student experience and career prospects.

I’d also advise them to actively engage in campus life, participate in extracurricular activities and build strong relationships with faculty and peers.
