I chose Teesside University London because of its strong reputation for providing industry-focussed business education. The university’s emphasis on practical learning, innovative teaching methods and strong industry connections made it the perfect place for me to develop my skills and expand my career opportunities. Additionally, its location in London provides access to a diverse professional network and job market, which aligns well with my career aspirations.

Why did you choose your course?

I chose this course because I have a strong passion for business, entrepreneurship, and strategic thinking. I wanted to develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the sector, from leadership and management to finance and marketing. This course provides a perfect blend of theory and practical application, helping me understand how businesses operate and grow in a competitive environment.

Additionally, I was drawn to the opportunities for real-world learning, networking, and industry engagement that the course offers. What do you like most about your course and why? Are there any modules you really enjoy?

This makes the content highly relevant and applicable to real business challenges. I particularly enjoy modules focused on global strategy, leadership, and international business operations, as they help me develop a strong understanding of how businesses expand and succeed in different markets. The opportunity to collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds also enhances my learning experience.

What do you think about the campus?

I think the Teesside University London campus is modern and well-equipped. The facilities create a great learning environment, with state-of-the-art classrooms, study spaces and technology that enhance the student experience.

I also appreciate the campus’s central London location, which provides easy access to networking opportunities, businesses, and cultural experiences. Being in a city allows me to connect with industry professionals, attend business events and gain real-world insights that complement my studies. The campus atmosphere is welcoming and diverse, making it an inspiring place to learn and collaborate.

How have your tutors supported you?

Dr. Stephen Asafo Agyei, my Global Strategist lecturer and block coordinator, and Dr. Shamim Ahmed, my tutor, were instrumental in my MSc International Management journey. Their clear guidance, practical insights and real-world examples made complex concepts engaging and relatable.

Through one-on-one support, critical thinking challenges and consistent encouragement, they kept me aligned with my academic and professional goals. Their unwavering mentorship, alongside the collaborative support of peers, profoundly shaped my industry experience and boosted my confidence, leaving a lasting impact on my growth.

The city is home to top companies, diverse industries, and international organisations, making it the perfect place to gain exposure to different business environments.

Additionally, London’s fast-paced and innovative environment aligns with my ambition to develop a strong career in international business, making it the ideal place for both academic and professional growth.

Do you have a job or do any volunteering during your studies?

Yes, I currently work as a Customer Experience Specialist at JD, where I apply my knowledge of international management to enhance customer engagement, optimise sales strategies and drive business performance. I was honoured to receive the Employee of the Month award for my ability to boost key performance indicators (KPIs) in the shortest possible time.

In addition, I volunteer as an Assistant Product Manager at Ultra Synergy, gaining hands-on experience in product development and management. I am always eager to embrace new opportunities as I work towards greater career prospects.

What are your ambitions for the future?

My ambitions for the future include advancing in international business management, with a focus on consulting and entrepreneurship.

In the long term, I envision starting my own consultancy or business that will have a global impact.
