Support for International Students
Working as an International Student
Typically, students can work up to 20 hours during term-time, and full-time during university breaks. However, your visa will state the hours you're allowed to work and you are strongly advised to check this.
We can give you practical help, advice and information on job hunting, making job applications and going for interviews. We can also advise you about the opportunities available for work and postgraduate study in the UK and overseas.

Immigration advice
Teesside University also offers a free, impartial, and confidential immigration and welfare-based advice service designed to encourage and empower international students to make informed choices.
There are four International Advisers who are qualified and authorised to provide immigration advice to students.
Information and advice provided is based upon known information held on your student record and upon information that you provide about your situation. We expect that you will be open and honest about your circumstances, so that we can ensure you receive the correct advice.
If the level of immigration advice required is beyond the competence of the International Student Adviser, they will refer you to an appropriately qualified external professional.
You can contact the International Advice Service for initial advice by email: international@tees.ac.uk
An International Student Adviser will respond to your enquiry and will arrange an appointment with you if required.
UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA)
The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) is the UK's national advisory body supporting international students and those who work with them.
