Here East Scholarship

About this scholarship

You may be eligible for £2,700 if you study with us that covers your full tuition fees and a top-up maintenance loan.

Here East is a campus in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park specially designed to encourage innovation and collaboration between the businesses, universities and start-ups that work and study here.

The Here East scholarship supports local people through higher education courses at the universities based on the innovation campus. You get your full tuition fees, a top-up to your maintenance loan (worth £2,700 a year), support with relevant work placements within the Here East business community, mentoring and company insight opportunities.

Eligibility

To apply for the scholarship, you must

• be a first-year, full-time home student starting at Teesside University London in 2024-25 studying one of these courses:
  • BA (Hons) Animation
  • BA (Hons) Business Management
  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science
  • BSc (Hons) Data Science
  • BA (Hons) Games Art
  • BA (Hons) Games Design
  • BA (Hons) Games Development
  • BSc (Hons) Games Programming
  • BSc (Hons) Information and Cyber Security
  • BA (Hons) International Business
  • BA (Hons) Visual Effects
• have lived in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest for at least three years
• be eligible for and applying to Student Finance England for funding.

You are expected to become a scholarship ambassador and support with future scholarship applicants and recipients.

How to apply

Here East shortlist and review your applications at the end of July. The scholarship recipient is announced mid-August, subject to them meeting the course entry requirements. For more information, please visit the Here East scholarship hub.
