This collaboration brings together academic excellence and real-world consultancy to prepare students for leadership roles in data-driven industries across the globe.

The new MSc Business Intelligence and Analytics (Applied) programme at Teesside University London focuses on high-impact areas including generative AI, data analysis, machine learning, and ethical data use.

Students will benefit from direct engagement with Grant Thornton professionals through guest lectures, live projects, and access to the latest market insights.

There is also opportunity to develop career-ready skills and take part in a Graduate Employability Forum designed to further boost prospects.

This partnership with Grant Thornton builds up on the highly successful course of the same name which is delivered by Teesside University International Business School at Teesside University’s main campus in Middlesbrough.

Ruth Walsh, Partner at Grant Thornton said, “We’re excited to partner with Teesside on this programme and share a wealth of experience and industry insights that we have with our students.”

A key feature of the course is the Advanced Practice research placement with Grant Thornton, which enables students to apply their learning in real business environments. This hands-on experience is designed to develop technical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills essential for navigating today’s complex data landscape. Students will not only receive a master’s qualification, but they will also receive a certificate of engagement from Grant Thornton themselves.

"This is the perfect fusion of academia and industry," said Dr Andrew Bingham, Dean of Teesside University International Business School at Teesside University. "We’re proud to offer a programme that not only teaches cutting-edge skills but also connects students directly with the business world."

Students will also take part in a Graduate Employability Forum, designed to enhance career readiness and provide networking opportunities with industry leaders.

"The partnership with Grant Thornton brings a unique dimension to the programme,” said Vithul Payangott, Senior Lecturer in Business. "Our students are not just learning theory, they're engaging with professionals who are shaping the future of analytics in the real world."

Teesside University and Grant Thornton are hoping to together empower the next generation of data professionals and business leaders — ready to lead, innovate, and transform the future of business intelligence.
