What do you most enjoy about teaching at Teesside University London?

I enjoy teaching at Teesside University London because I can inspire diverse, ambitious students and watch their confidence and skills grow every day. I value being part of a supportive academic community that champions creativity, real-world learning, and meaningful student success.

How do your students benefit from your experience?

Combining my academic and industry experience, my students benefit from my ability to connect theory with real-world practice, whilst guiding them through challenges with practical insights, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in both their studies and future careers. I can anticipate where they might struggle, provide relevant examples, and offer clear, structured support that comes from having worked in the field myself.

Tell us about your career to date

I have more than nine years of experience in Human Resource Management within large global organisations. During my PhD, I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Warwick Business School and later served as a Teaching Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the Department of Management. These roles have strengthened my pedagogical approach and deepened my understanding of student learning.

What industry links do you have?

I have developed strong connections with organisations and professionals across the management field. These relationships allow me to invite guest speakers who enrich students’ learning experiences with practical insights.

How has your industry experience enhanced your teaching?

My industry experience enables me to bring real, practical examples into the classroom, helping students grasp complex concepts and apply them effectively. It allows me to design lessons that reflect current industry practices, identify the skills employers value, and create learning activities that mirror real workplace scenarios. This experience also helps me offer relevant, tailored guidance that shows students how their learning translates into professional success.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

One of the most rewarding highlights of my career has been witnessing my students succeed in their professional lives and secure roles in highly competitive organisations. I am also proud of my pastoral support work, particularly helping international students overcome academic and personal challenges, and develop strategies to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
