Teesside University Law Clinic enhances and promotes access to justice to the communities we serve by providing experiential learning opportunities for students enriched by engagement and partnership with the legal profession.
Teesside Policing Clinic aims to maintain and develop a sustainable, evidence-informed partnership between with its policing partners and Teesside University, enhancing policing practice; strengthening research capability; improving public safety outcomes, and contributing to academic knowledge through ethical, impactful, and mutually beneficial research and innovation activity, whilst enriching the overall student learning experience.
Teesside University, through the Institute for Collective Place Leadership, has a strong record of successful interdisciplinary research. The Justice Hub sits with the Institute for Collective Place Leadership, and its research seeks to address local, regional and national challenges in crime, harm and justice. Projects have informed the development of local strategies to ensure the success and safety of high-speed police pursuits and designed research toolkits for local stakeholder and community engagement projects in the wake of riot recovery. We work with a range of local and regional partners including Cleveland Police, Cleveland Unit for the Reduction of Violence (CURV), Holme House Prison and numerous local businesses and third sector organisations to provide evidence and understanding to address urgent demand and challenges around crime, harm and justice.
