How did you find out about Teesside?

I looked at the course page online and then also attended an open day. I was really impressed by both experiences and decided to apply.

Why Teesside?

The modern facilities and the expert lecturers attracted me to Teesside. I looked at other universities but none of them appealed to me as much as Teesside did. The modules on the course provided relevant content that covered all of animation and they made the transition to industry work very easy.

How did university prepare you?

Studying animation at Teesside gave me the fundamentals I needed in order to transition into my current role. The lecturers are insightful about the principles of animation and taught us how to use industry standard software.

My third year on the course was especially helpful, as it allowed me to focus on an area of my interest with the guidance from a mentor. The work I produced during this module is ultimately what got me my current job.

Ambitions for the future?

I would like to work abroad in different countries, see the world and experience life in different cultures. I would also really like to work in film animation as well.

How is the career service?

The careers service is a massive help to any student. I approached the team as I felt anxious and uncertain about applying for jobs, writing CV’s and the interview process. The team planned a few sessions for me tailored to my needs and my confidence improved to the point where I had no issues going to interviews and doing well.

Favourite part of studying at Teesside?

Studying alongside the friends I met at Teesside was a great experience as you’re able to learn from each other every day. Your course mates really make it so much easier for you when you need to put in the extra study time as it’s a really supportive environment. The campus is also great, and the facilities are the best I have seen.

Would you recommend Teesside?

I would definitely recommend this course as you are always progressing and learning more from the lecturers and fellow students. The work is challenging, but the overall atmosphere is great, and the labs are always really upbeat and exciting place to work.
