Start Up Sprint

Supercharge your skills and get involved in some hands on enterprise activity by attending Launchpad’s brand new programme Start Up Sprint. Its a series of introductory start-up business workshops for students studying at Teesside University.

This programme is being delivered by First Face to Face on behalf of Teesside Launchpad.

This fun, lively and engaging programme will appeal to everyone with an interest in entrepreneurship who would like to explore ideas and learn how to take them to the next stage. The workshops are also a great opportunity to meet some like-minded people, increase your self-confidence and learn some valuable transferable employability skills - all great for your CV. You do not have to have a business idea in order to attend the workshops.

Workshop 1: Start Up Box
18 April /2.00pm - 4.00pm

Asking anyone to think creatively on the spot is tough, especially in a room full of people you don’t know. This workshop will focus on team building and highlight the simple steps to communicating and developing business ideas.

Workshop 2: Teesside Launchpad Business Model Canvassing (BMC)
26 April / 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Pre- start up entrepreneurs often shudder at the thought of writing a 52-page business plan. Especially when the idea is rough, incomplete and hasn’t been tested. The BMC is the perfect tool to get ideas from heads to paper without having to form complex sentences about profit and loss and three-year strategies!

Workshop 3: Market Research and the ‘Mom Test'
3 May/ 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Would you ask your mum what she thought of your business idea? Do you think she would say she didn’t like it if it was going to hurt your feelings? You will get the opportunity to speak to potential customers, test your ideas and use your findings in your final pitch.

Workshop 4: Networking and Pitching
10 May / 4.00pm - 6.00pm

How will you develop your business if you don’t have any contacts? In this session, you will test out your own elevator pitches based on your personal values. You will explore networking opportunities in your local area and develop your team’s business pitch.

Celebration Event
6.00pm - 8.00pm

This networking event will celebrate your achievements over the last fours weeks, and you'll pitch your idea to the room with the chance to win a prize. Refreshments will be provided.
