Get involved in Student Money Week running from 13 to 17 November in the Student Life Building. Join us for a week of opportunities to win a variety of prizes, participate in workshops aimed at improving your financial wellbeing, and enjoy fantastic food offers.

Sign up to Blackbullion or download the app, you could win one of 5 x £50 Sainsburys vouchers.
Blackbullion is a financial wellbeing platform, equipping students and graduates with money skills for life. More information on Blackbullion can be accessed here.

Take part in a workshop, you could win £300 Argos voucher.
For every workshop you take part in during Student Money Week, you will get one entry in the prize draw. The Period Sustainability Workshop is excluded from entry.

Complete ‘Budgeting 101’ learning pathway on Blackbullion, you could win £100 Sainsburys voucher.
All students who complete Budgeting 101 learning pathway on Blackbullion, during ‘Money week’ will be entered in the prize draw.

Complete as many learning pathways on Blackbullion as you can, you could win £300 cash.
The student who completes the highest number of learning pathways on Blackbullion will win this prize.

Guess the price difference of 2 baskets of shopping, you could win both baskets.
If you can correctly guess the price difference between a basket of Sainsbury’s own brand products vs the equivalent big brand products, you could be in with a chance of winning the contents of BOTH shopping baskets. The baskets will contain seasonal treats. Winners will be chosen at random.

Enjoy 2 for 1 on food in the Food Quarter (Library ground floor) between 4.30pm and 5.30pm throughout Student Money Week.
Terms and Conditions: When selecting 2 meals you will receive 100% discount on the cheapest meal you’ve selected. Students must quote “2 for 1” to server to activate discount. Students only, who must show their TUSC. Eat in orders only. Orders must be placed at the counter. Week commencing 13 November only, during the hours of 16:30-17:30.

Enjoy 15% off standard hot drinks and cocktails at the Students’ Union throughout Student Money Week. Take advantage of their food special and enjoy Homemade Spicy Chicken Jollof Burrito for £3.50.

Activities taking place during ‘Money week’

Marketplace, Mon 13, 10.30am- 2.30pm, SLB
Learn about looking after your money and making it go further. You can speak to our Student Finance Advisers as well as specialist organisations including: • HSBC • Cleveland Police • Stop Loan Sharks • Victim Care and Support (VCAS) • Citizens Advice • The Community Grocery Store

You will also be able to learn about Blackbullion, a free service for Teesside University students to support with your financial well-being

HSBC Workshops, Mon 13, Middlesbrough Tower, M7.13, 11am-12pm, or 12pm-1pm
This one-hour session, delivered by our local HSBC team, will help you to manage your money with safety and confidence. You’ll be taken through the main types of financial fraud you might come across and find out some of the ways HSBC make their customer’s money more secure. Email to book your place.

Learn about looking after your money and making it go further. Speak to our Student Finance Advisers and learn about Blackbullion. Blackbullion is a free service for Teesside University students to support with your financial well-being

Budgeting Basics Workshop, Tue 14, The Curve, T2.03, 12pm-1pm
A budget provides peace of mind and financial freedom by ensuring that your essential expenses are covered, allowing you to spend on things you enjoy without worry. Attend this workshop to learn tips and techniques to create your own budget. Email to book your place.

Eating Healthy on a Budget, Wed 15, The Curve, T2.11, 10.30am – 11.30am
This workshop looks at how to create nutritious and balanced meals while sticking to a student budget. You will learn various strategies and tips that can empower you to maintain your health and well-being whilst studying. Email to book your place.

Sustainable Period Workshop, Thu 16, The Curve, T2.07, 12pm-1pm
Attend this workshop given by a rep from TOTM – giving expert support and advice around using the menstrual cups. There are free cups available to those who attend the talk. Email to book your place.
